# User Segments

User Segments are used to target rules and a program to specific people based on [custom attributes](https://docs.suggestic.com/console/access-the-main-menu/access-the-main-menu/programs/user-segments/create-a-segment/custom-attributes).

For instance, a user segment can be all the users who can need a diet **Lactose Intolerant.**
